  In a Structured packing, material is arranged in a specific way to follow the mass transfer operation more efficiently. Structured packing is widely used in Distillation Column, Chemical reactors and absorption towers also. Thin corrugated metal plates consisting in it is designed to forcing and passing fluids through more disturbances on its way throughout the column. The design purpose` is intended to ultimately produce a large surface area for contact between different phases of fluids. Variety of materials are being used in structured packing including corrugated sheets with perforated holes of metals, plastic and wire gauze also. After all the arrangement of sheets, the honeycomb shaped product is formed which is with inclined flow channels producing high surface area and also coupled with low gas flow resistance.
